Overview
Olsson Industrial Electric, OS Engineering and Olsson Controls collaborated on the replacement of AWS Pump Systems for the north fish ladder of the John Day Dam. The Northwest Region, Portland District Army Corps of Engineers awarded the Olsson team with a Best Value Design-Build contract to replace existing AWS Pumps with upgraded AWS Pump Systems, fabricate and install a new Power Distribution System and perform incidental related work.
Scope
- Designed and fabricated LV and MV power distribution systems
- Installed two 3000kVA transformers, two parallel 13.8kV feeders and six 450 HP VFD and motors including integrated PLC control systems
- Adhered to meticulous specifications for engineered equipment to fulfill requirements of challenging operating environment
- Factory acceptance testing of all components, including motors, ¼ scale pump design, and Power Distribution Center
- Designed, fabricated and tested the Power Distribution Center
- Provided project management services, integrating with six engineering firms, four subcontractors and six suppliers
