Project Description

Overview

Olsson Industrial Electric, OS Engineering and Olsson Controls collaborated to upgrade a variety of Woodward governors at the Bonneville Lock and Dam, Powerhouse II. Olsson replaced the mechanical governors and related controls with digital governors in main units 11-18 and fish units F1 and F2 (including new supporting conduit and cabling). The Olsson team also repaired and refurbished distributing valves, designed and manufactured transducer mounting brackets, and removed and disposed of asbestos on the premises.

Scope

  • Removed Woodward mechanical governors and associated controls (Units 11-18, F1 and F2)
  • Installed new conduit and cabling in support of new digital governors and controls
  • Installed new government-provided governor controls
  • Deconstructed, refurbished and/or repaired distributing valves
  • Designed and manufactured transducer mounting brackets
  • Designed and installed bracket assemblies to support government-provided equipment 
  • Removed and disposed of asbestos
