Overview
Olsson Industrial Electric, Olsson Controls and OS Engineering collaborated to manage and install the Intermediate Robot and Conveyor project for ATI Cast Products’ Pacific Cast Technologies plant in Albany, Oregon in January of 2015. The OS Engineering team oversaw the project, coordinating five subcontractors for subsystem delivery and design (robot, conveyor, conveyor structural support and building modification). The Olsson team also performed electrical engineering and design services, developed operating software, fabricated and assembled panels, and installed all electrical components.
Scope
- Provided design concept for the increase of investment casting line productivity
- Designed storage and transfer conveyor and integrated with an intermediate robot to move parts between cells during the production process
- Utilized conveyor to provide multiple hook storage locations for part transfer and drying between cells
- Designed and built drying tunnel (comprised of over 200 fans) surrounding conveyor for comprehensive drying airflow during storage
